We understand that your session content may change once the Symposium date and location are announced. With that in mind we are only requiring that some of the session info be submitted now (by February 3, 2023) with a complete and revised submission being due at a later date.
For now, initial session proposals require a subject/title, description, at least one learning objective, and at least one speaker to be able to be considered.

Our annual Sustainability Symposium covers cutting-edge green building and sustainability topics as well as industry best practices, including LEED, Passive House, Living Building Challenge, Enterprise, WELL, green stormwater infrastructure, 2030 Districts, and more. If you have a session proposal related to any variety of sustainability and green building topic, from introductory to advanced, we want to see your submission!
Factors for grading submissions include a combination of: innovation/idea, topic relevance, description, diversity of perspectives represented in the speakers, research/data/case studies.
While diversity and multi-firm representation does not guarantee session acceptance, multi-org representation is prioritized because we want sessions to be deeply informative explorations of topics and have found that offering collaborative views is often the best way to achieve this. Also, equity in racial, age, and gender inclusion is a deeply held value of Green Building United and an essential component of achieving sustainability.
No, however, the information you provide in this form and future questionnaires will be used by GBU staff to submit on your behalf. Please download the Session Submission Guidance document to learn more about what is required to qualify for CEUs. Your sessions must meet minimum CEU qualifications to be reviewed by the Symposium committee.
You may submit multiple sessions however our Symposium Committee rarely selects multiple sessions with the same speaker. If multiple sessions are submitted with a single speaker on both panels, that person may be asked to step down for a session and that speaker may be replaced.
If your session is selected by our committee, you will be required to submit additional info including your final list of panelists, your 4 learning objectives, and a presentation slide deck.
