This workshop will articulate a step-by-step strategy for development teams interested in creating cost-effective, multi-family, Passive House projects. Pros and cons related to metering/monitoring/mechanical/envelop systems and strategies will help guide the most appropriate path for any team considering a Passive House development.

David Salamon, Re:Vision Architecture
This workshop will be a live demonstration, using a full size mock up, where prefabricated wall panels and insulated foundation system are used in conjunction with standard building components. We will be assembling a mock-up from foundation to rafters and show how standard means and methods can be utilized to simplify the construct of high performing Building Envelopes.
Rob Leonard, Build SMART
John Ware, Build SMART
Ventilation traditionally accounts for 30% of a buildings energy use, and building owners, occupants and managers are calling for more, not less, ventilation. How do we optimize IAQ and health while managing energy to get to Passive House, Net Zero, or other high performance building metrics? This workshop will show you how, and provide a better understanding of why efficiency in heat recovery ventilation matters.

Understand the benefits and capabilities of designing and building with polymer windows and doors – from energy performance to cost to comfort. Learn about polymer and its superb thermal performance, sound abatement properties, simple installation, and building capabilities. We will review solutions for mid to high-rise, window walls, and storefronts, and review how to achieve beautiful design in affordable to luxury projects.
