Storm water management plays a key role in the resilience of this rapidly expanding urban neighborhood. The multiple green open spaces serve as “outdoor living rooms” which increase pervious surfaces while encouraging physical activity and community engagement. The tour will be led by landscape architects who designed League Island Park and the Central Green. Pennoni Engineers will discuss engineered solutions for bio-basins and curbside rain gardens. Bittenbender Construction, will discuss construction practices and value engineering that helped to realize these visions into a constructed reality.

Digsau Architects, the designer of multiple Navy Yard buildings, will conduct the tour inside this 136,000 SF facility along with the Developer from Gattuso Development Partners and the User. This building demonstrates that LEED buildings make financial and ethical sense for the building owners as well as the users who occupy them.

With a unique configuration, the building is owned by a commercial developer who accommodates this user’s needs, while creating a facility that will be financially competitive for years to come. The tour will be led by Digsau, the Architects for the building, Turner, the Construction Manager, the Project Manager for the Developer and the User. The interiors are bathed with natural light, unique employee amenities and a world class art collection throughout the facility.
