New Castle County Stretch Energy Code Webinar
Energy efficiency in the design and construction of buildings is one of the most effective ways to significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions within our built environment. For local governments, this means developing stretch building codes that increase the efficiency of new and existing buildings to make our homes and workplaces healthier, more energy efficient, and resilient.
This October, join Councilmember Dee Durham of Delaware’s New Castle County (NCC), representatives from the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership (NEEP), and Green Building United (GBU) for a webinar discussing the vision, development, and implementation of new county stretch codes that would make NCC a leader in our region for building energy efficiency. Be a part of the discussion from the early planning stages and learn how New Castle County is taking action through stretch codes to make its buildings a part of the solution to the climate crisis.
Event Fee: FREE!
Webinar Objectives:
-
Explore with NCC leaders and experts on how best to design new building stretch codes, the timeline for implementation, and how to get them adopted county-wide.
-
Learn how other local governments in the region are taking similar approaches to develop new stretch codes that improve the energy efficiency and resiliency of buildings.
-
Take under consideration stretch code ideas presented in the webinar and provide recommendations for changes or improvements.
