We’ll hear from a design expert about what a continuous air barrier is, why it is so important to energy efficient buildings, and different conceptual approaches to whole-building air barrier design. We’ll also review recent Oxford Green blower door results before seeing how we can drive those numbers down!
Using the Oxford Green details and photo documentation of as-built conditions, we’ll delve into specific conditions where building materials come together at critical intersections with Neil Goldman, Habitat for Humanity's Construction Superintendent.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the challenges around installing a tight and continuous air barrier, and brainstorm potential options, recommendations, and lessons learned. Together, we’ll aim to tackle solutions to the not-so-obvious air barrier!
