Position Summary 

The new Campaign Manager supports the convening of the Housing Equity, Repair and Electrification for Climate Justice (HERE4CJ) Coalition (the Coalition) in close collaboration with co-conveners at the Sierra Club of Pennsylvania, the Coalition’s Steering Committee, and members of the full coalition. 

This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with coalition members, partners, and external stakeholders, as well as supporting the Coalition to develop and realize effective messaging strategies. The position will also be responsible for the management of a two-year grant to support the Coalition’s success. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and strategic thinker with a passion for climate justice and a proven track record of success in campaign management/community organizing and program management. 

Specific responsibilities of this position will include: 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with coalition members, partners, and stakeholders. 
  • Support ongoing communication, conversation, and education with impacted communities. 
  • Coordinate with and facilitate conversations among the Coalition, Steering Committee, and colleagues to develop and implement comprehensive campaign plans, including goals, strategies, and tactics. 
  • Build, manage, and implement effective advocacy campaigns. 
  • Develop and execute effective messaging strategies, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational and coalition goals. 
  • Track campaign progress and evaluate outcomes to inform future efforts. 
  • Manage tracking and implementation of HERE4CJ’s current grant funding, including identifying and executing key training opportunities, redistributing grant funding to Coalition and community partners, and securing outreach and communications materials and support. 
  • Represent the organization at community events, meetings with elected officials and other key stakeholders, and partner events. 
  • Collaborate with the Steering Committee, full Coalition, and GBU and Sierra Club staff to identify and execute further opportunities to advance the Coalition’s success.  

 

Green Building United’s team is small and collaborative, and this position will also assist with additional programs and tasks as needed (expected to be 5-10% of position time). These tasks could include: 

  • Supporting advocacy and policy efforts; 
  • Supporting the planning and execution of events to support GBU’s membership. 
  • Support communications and outreach efforts 
Skills & Qualifications 

The desired candidate will have skills and/or experience in the following areas: 

  • Proven leadership experience in campaign management or community organizing, with a demonstrated track record of success. 
  • Experience facilitating coalitions or similar groups of individuals or organizations.  
  • Strong understanding of the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania political landscape and key stakeholders. 
  • Experience managing program budgets, tracking progress, and meeting deadlines. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships, foster mutual understanding, and advocate toward shared goals. 
  • Passion for climate and housing justice and a commitment to the goals of the HERE4CJ Coalition. 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Experience working with diverse populations and communities. 
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent campaign or community organizing experience. 
Compensation 

This is a grant-funded position with a salary of $78,000. Additionally, Green Building United employees receive employee benefits including:
