We were beyond excited when we heard the news that Kristin Sullivan would be hiking the Continental Divide Trail and chose Green Building United as an organization to support through her journey. The trail is know as a "living museum of the American West" and takes around six months to hike, but this isn't Kristin's first foray in long distance adventuring for the environment. We'll be keeping up with Kristin through her location updates, musings, and more on her website www.sullyandthecdt.com.
Along with Green Building United, Kristin is also raising money for the Energy Coordinating Agency, the Continental Divide Trail Coalition, and her own travel logistics.
On reasons why Kristin chose to embark on this journey, she says,
"I want to make this bigger than just me and my love for the outdoors. I am trying to help 3 amazing organizations that I believe in. These non-profits are working for the greater good on shoestring budgets."
