Building Projects 101: Planning & Working with Contractors

The Climate Ready Capital Projects (CRCP) Program and the Better Building Hub invite community-based organizations to join us for a Contractor Navigation Workshop designed to help organizations confidently plan, procure, and manage building improvement projects.

Whether you’re planning energy upgrades, resilience projects, accessibility improvements, or other capital investments, working with contractors can feel overwhelming. Participants will also enjoy a catered breakfast and coffee while connecting with peers and project experts.This workshop will provide practical guidance on navigating the process. We’re planning a mix of expert panel discussions, peer learning, and interactive workshop activities.

Potential topics include:

• Defining project goals and scope
• Developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
• Evaluating contractor bids and selecting a team
• Managing contractors throughout construction
• Incorporating sustainability and resilience into projects
• Avoiding common pitfalls and keeping projects on track from start to finish.
